At Tree Top Escape, we believe your wedding day should be a full sensory experience — not just a beautiful ceremony, but a day that feels alive with personality, laughter, and really good food. Nestled in the North Devon countryside, our intimate venue is the perfect setting for couples who want something a little different from a buffet table and a tiered sponge. With a guest list of up to 14, every food moment lands differently here. There's no cavernous function room to fill — just you, your people, and an experience that feels completely yours. Here are five of our favourite food experiences to inspire you.

1. Live Cooking in the Grill Haus – An Experience for the Senses

Imagine the mouth-watering aroma of sizzling skewers, steaks, or fresh seafood drifting through the trees as you and your guests relax and soak up the atmosphere. Our Grill Haus offers more than just a meal – it’s a culinary performance.

Guests can watch talented chefs work their magic in real-time, creating a dynamic, social dining experience that adds to the sense of occasion. Whether you opt for a laid-back BBQ or a gourmet flame-grilled menu, this is outdoor dining at its most memorable.

2. Personalised Donut Tower – A Sweet Slice of You

Ditch tradition and make dessert an expression of your personality. A custom donut tower is as interactive as it is eye-catching, allowing guests to pick their favourite flavours while admiring the playful personal touches – think initials, flowers, or even mini versions of your pets!

It’s a joyful, light-hearted moment that invites guests to indulge their sweet tooth and get talking.

3. Charcuterie Cones – Grazing, but Make It Fun

Move over platters – charcuterie cones from Graze and S’more turn snacking into an experience. These individual cones are packed with cured meats, artisan cheeses, olives, and crackers – all beautifully arranged and easy to enjoy while mingling. They’re perfect for relaxed receptions, allowing guests to nibble, wander, and chat without needing a plate or seat. Vegetarian and vegan versions ensure everyone is included.

4. Dessert Grazing Board – A Feast for the Eyes (and the Senses)

Transform dessert into a talking point with a visually stunning grazing board. Think colourful macarons, silky truffles, mini tarts, and juicy fruits – all artfully arranged to wow your guests. It’s the kind of experience that encourages guests to gather, graze, and enjoy at their own pace. Ideal for a laid-back, sociable vibe, especially if you love variety.

5. Pizza Station – The Ultimate Feel-Good Feast

Few things say “fun” like pizza. With a Frisky Pheasant pizza station, guests can enjoy made-to-order slices fresh from the oven – from timeless margheritas to meat-loaded favourites and veggie delights. It’s casual, comforting, and creates a brilliant backdrop for conversation, laughter, and late-night dancing fuel. An experience that’s just as much about the smiles as it is about the slices.

Which food experience is right for your wedding?

The honest answer is — it depends entirely on you. A Grill Haus experience works beautifully for couples who love drama and theatre in their dining. Charcuterie cones and grazing boards are perfect if your guests love to mingle and graze at their own pace. And if you just want everyone to be ridiculously happy, you really can't go wrong with pizza. The best part? At Tree Top Escape, you're not choosing from a rigid package menu. We work with a carefully chosen team of local suppliers — all featured in our Little Black Book of Suppliers — to build a dining experience that's completely bespoke to you. If you'd love to combine a show-stopping food experience with a truly intimate ceremony, take a look at our Intimate Wedding Packages. With exclusive use of our stunning venue, you can create a wedding day that's as unique as your love story — and full of unforgettable moments, from the "I do" to the last slice of pizza.
