North Devon beaches

North Devon has a fantastic selection of beaches for you to explore during your stay. Here are a few of our favourites.

Saunton sands

Saunton SandsNo Excuses.

This is our favourite beach. Why? So many answers to that question - It's shallow, so great for kids, dogs, surfing and swimming. It's dry sand (unlike Westward Ho!), so you don't get caked in the stuff, it has excellent services, and it's awe-inspiring!
All Year

Instow

Instow Just like Greece.

Instow beach always reminds us of Greece, looking across at the tiny coloured houses of Appledore. Popular with locals, it also offers free parking and an array of restaurants and cafes to choose from.
Limited Season

Croyde

CroydeSurfers Paradise.

Croyde is the place to be if you are a hard core surfer - it is a small but beautifully formed beach. Take a walk to Baggy Point and admire the fabulous coastline or drop your towel and relax for the day.

Pelican Fish Bar

Pelican Fish Bar Barnstaple.

They are also committed to protecting our oceans by only using wlid-caught or farmed fish from sustainable fisheries – another reason to visit!

Sylvesters

Sylvesters Fish & Chips.Appledore.

This is a little gem - a small fish and chip takeaway just near the quay in Appledore. Take a stroll along the quay and find a bench to watch the local fishermen on the Estuary….then grab a Hockings Ice Cream for dessert!
