North Devon beaches
North Devon has a fantastic selection of beaches for you to explore during your stay. Here are a few of our favourites.

Saunton SandsNo Excuses.
This is our favourite beach. Why? So many answers to that question - It's shallow, so great for kids, dogs, surfing and swimming. It's dry sand (unlike Westward Ho!), so you don't get caked in the stuff, it has excellent services, and it's awe-inspiring!
All Year

Instow Just like Greece.
Instow beach always reminds us of Greece, looking across at the tiny coloured houses of Appledore. Popular with locals, it also offers free parking and an array of restaurants and cafes to choose from.
Limited Season

CroydeSurfers Paradise.
Croyde is the place to be if you are a hard core surfer - it is a small but beautifully formed beach. Take a walk to Baggy Point and admire the fabulous coastline or drop your towel and relax for the day.

Fish & Chips
A trip to North Devon would not be complete without fish and chips, either from the wrapper or in a restaurant these are our favourites.

Squires Fish & Chip Restaurant and Take AwayBraunton.
Whether you love classic fish and chips or want something, different Squires offers it all. A family run business that knows its stuff. We love the deep-fried halloumi. Why not preorder online? It's also ideal for grabbing your food and heading to the beach.

Pelican Fish Bar Barnstaple.
Fish and Chip shop of the year 2018 and you can understand why, great to take away or eat in. Located on the edge of Barnstaple but well worth the journey. They are also committed to protecting our oceans by only using wlid-caught or farmed fish from sustainable fisheries – another reason to visit!
Pubs
North Devon is poilt for good quality pubs - here are our top three.

The Exeter Inn Chittlehamholt.
A great local thatched pub in the small village of Chittlehamholt, located close to Highbullen Hotel. Offering food most evenings with a selection of specialised evenings, including fish and chips night, pizza night, and a delicious Sunday roast. An outdoor area, lots of indoor seating and private function space for celebrations.
Cafes
Exploring North Devon can be hungry work, so we’ve put together our top spots to stop for a bite to eat or delicious cooked breakfast!

Fremington Quay CafeFremington Quay.
A big favourite with us! Located with views over the Estuary and out to sea Fremington Quay Cafe offers fabulous food from a delicious home-cooked, locally sourced breakfast to cakes and exceptional lunches. Well-loved by our children too for their great kids' meal and kids play area outside.
Dog friendly outside
