Accessibility Guide

Introduction

Tree Top Escape is located within the 32-acre estate of Millbrook, offering large grassed areas, old and new woodlands, a stream, 4 lakes and meadows.

Built in 2016, Tree Top Escape was designed with accessibility in mind. From wide doorways to ramps and anti-slip decking (also suitable for wheelchairs), we ensure all our guests have a great stay.

Although Tree Top Escape is elevated in the trees, there are no steps inside the accommodation. Disabled access is available via a ramp — the main entrance is accessed by two large steps.

Tree Top Escape is fully equipped and 5-star Gold Rated.

Each guest has access to either Nicola, Justine or Samantha to help plan their stay. They can organise special dietary requests and answer any questions on accessibility.

Wheelchair users may find the estate difficult to navigate due to its terrain and soft ground. We have had guests stay with four-wheel-drive electric mobility scooters — these are perfect for enjoying the estate during dry weather. A charging point for electric mobility scooters is available on request.

Access, Welcome and Car Parking

Information on how to access Tree Top Escape will be emailed 7 days before arrival.

Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout, and an incoming DDI number is available for calls via the landline. Mobile signal is limited.

EV charging is available on-site via our Voltshare Charger — please scan the QR code on the charger and follow directions.

Parking is available for approximately 8 cars (with 18 steps to the main entrance), with an overflow car park located approximately 200 metres away.

Accessible parking and a drop-off point are located immediately next to the ramp, which measures 1.3m wide by 4m long (to top of ramp).

The area is mostly well lit, but we recommend bringing a torch if arriving in the dark. We provide a rechargeable Maglite torch in the foyer.

Dietary Information

All of our romantic packages can be customised with prior notice. We can offer vegan champagne or non-alcoholic alternatives (unfortunately we are unable to source local vegan chocolate at present).

Our bread is vegan-friendly, but we do not currently have a gluten-free option for arrival bread.

All of our chefs can cater for all diets including vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free and more.

Allergy Information

All bedding is Just Like Down — high quality and suitable for all guests. Feather pillow alternatives are also available on request.

We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs in Tree Top Escape for £50 per stay. Service dogs are welcome free of charge. The property has a very deep clean after each stay.

Tree Top Escape is regularly visited by our cats, so we would recommend keeping them out if you have a cat allergy.

Master and Guest Bedrooms

Master Bedroom: Super King (6ft) Millbrook handmade bed and mattress — height 2ft 6".

Guest Bedroom: King Size (5ft) or twin (2ft 6") — height 2ft 2".

Copper Bath (Master Bedroom): 650mm height, 1700mm L x 690mm W. Small step to bath area.

Guest and Master Bedroom Ensuite Bathrooms

Both bathrooms have walk-in rainforest showers.

All taps are mixer taps with large handles for easy use.

XL 650gsm cotton bath sheets are provided for all guests, along with XL robes and towels for the hot tub.

Beachcomber Private Hot Tub

Access to the hot tub is via a sliding patio door, 1.3m wide.

The hot tub is positioned on a floating decking area. Steps to the hot tub: 4 steps (70cm wide, 18cm height, 20cm deep).

The hot tub lid may be difficult to remove and replace.

XL robes and hot tub towels are provided for all guests, along with children's robes if required.

Laundry Room and Recycling

The laundry room is located 45 steps from the main entrance and offers washing and drying facilities (with a small step to access the room). See the aerial view — the laundry room is top right, accessed from the far side.

The recycling and rubbish area is located to the left of the front door. Recycling storage is also available inside Tree Top Escape as an overflow area.

The Meadow Room

58 steps from the main entrance of Tree Top Escape to the Meadow Room, or 40 steps from the ramp.

Access from the car park and tree house is mainly on gravel.

The Meadow Room has level access with one step to the indoor area.

Grill Haus

The Grill Haus is located 118 steps from the main entrance. It is not accessible and does not have a nearby toilet. There is a step to access and most people will need to duck to gain entry.

Outside Toilets

There are two outside toilets. One is located at the bottom of the Nest walkway — this is a large, easily accessible toilet. The other, located near the Grill Haus, is themed on the Tardis from the BBC TV show Doctor Who. Unfortunately this toilet is not accessible due to its style and location.
