Introducing Clare
Hello! I’m Clare Willcocks, an artist and illustrator based in Westward Ho!. From an early age, I’ve had a passion for drawing and painting, which has grown into a fulfilling career spanning fine art, portraiture, and teaching workshops to budding artists.
One of my greatest joys is working as a wedding artist, combining my love for portraiture with the magic of a couple’s big day. I discovered my passion for portraiture while painting Marilyn Monroe at school, and it’s been a central part of my artistic journey ever since. Painting live at weddings is particularly special — I enjoy chatting with guests as I paint and capturing their likenesses in just 10-15 minutes per couple. There’s a wonderful energy in revealing a painting of the bride and groom’s cherished moment during the reception when emotions are still running high. It’s an honour to contribute to such memorable celebrations.
Services Offered
As a proud trusted supplier of Tree Top Escape, I offer bespoke wedding packages tailored to the intimate celebrations the venue is known for. My live painting services include capturing key moments of the day, such as the ceremony, while guests watch the artwork come to life. The final piece is finished and framed on-site, becoming an immediate keepsake of your special day. Additionally, I offer live guest portraits, allowing attendees to take home a one-of-a-kind piece of art as a memento.
Here are my packages:
- **TREASURED MOMENT:** Ceremony Painting – £300*
- **SILVER PACKAGE:** Ceremony Painting and Live Portraits for up to 6 guests (or 4 guests plus the bride and groom) – £450*
- **GOLD PACKAGE:** Ceremony Painting and Live Portraits for all guests (up to 16 guests, typically in couples, including the bride and groom) – £600*

Why I Love Tree Top Escape
I love the relaxed vibe of weddings at Tree Top Escape. They are unhurried and intimate, with only the bride and groom's nearest and dearest. The backdrop of the Treehouse is incredible, and all the little touches make the day unique and special for each couple. Tucked away in the countryside, it feels wonderfully secluded and I love that it is as perfect when it's raining as it is in the sunshine.
Expert Advice for Couples
Couples often ask if I can capture a specific moment, like when they're facing each other during the ceremony, or perhaps walking back down the aisle, or even the confetti throw. The answer is yes! The backdrop is also completely the couple's choice; incorporating the flowers, or other decorations is something I love, and helps make the piece unique and personal.
Often people are curious about the portrait process, too. For guest portraits, I work from life, which means the guests stand in front of my easel, and I paint them in about 10-15 minutes per couple. It's a really unique and fun experience for guests, and couples often mention in my reviews that their guests have commented on how much they enjoyed it, and how much they love their portrait.
