As the golden hues of autumn faded into the crispness of winter, Samantha and Tom celebrated their dream wedding day in the heart of North Devon at Tree Top Escape. Surrounded by their closest loved ones, it was the perfect setting for a couple who cherish intimacy, connection, and the simple joys of life.
Teenage Sweethearts Reunited
Samantha and Tom’s love story began as teenagers at a summer camp—although they weren’t friends at the time. Years later, fate stepped in when they bumped into each other at the local bank where Tom was working. A few social media chats later (as you do!), they arranged to meet up—and the rest, as they say, is history. Now, they’re marking an incredible 10 years together and celebrating their first year of marriage.
A Wedding for Two (Plus a Few!)
Neither Samantha nor Tom wanted a big, traditional wedding. “We both don’t like having the full attention on us,” they shared, “so we wanted to keep things small and intimate.” Tree Top Escape offered them exactly that—privacy, beauty, and a touch of luxury, all wrapped into one.

The Big Day
The night before the wedding, Samantha stayed at Tree Top Escape with two of her close friends, while Tom and his best man stayed nearby adding a touch of anticipation to the morning. With a midday ceremony, Samantha enjoyed a slow and relaxed morning getting ready.
After their heartfelt ceremony, they celebrated with champagne before heading off to feed the alpacas—an unforgettable experience for them, their two children, and guests alike! While their guests returned to enjoy games and drinks, Samantha and Tom explored the grounds for some stunning photo opportunities.
Dinner in The Nest was an absolute highlight, with the fabulous Gaz cooking up a feast. After the family left around 7pm, the couple spent a cosy evening in the company of two close guests who stayed for the week—complete with hot tub soaks and laughter under the stars. The autumn weather was unexpectedly kind, with sunshine and warmth lasting just long enough—the following week brought snow!
Dream Team of Suppliers
Maria, their photographer, captured every special moment with warmth and ease. “It felt like we’d known her for years,” said Samantha, despite only meeting once on Zoom prior to the day. And of course, Gaz delivered an unforgettable dining experience that everyone raved about.
A Four-Legged Guest of Honour
One of the most emotional and joyful moments for Samantha was the walk across to The Nest to meet Tom. “I came over with emotions of joy and excitement that this is finally happening.” Adding to the magic, their beloved dog was there to witness it all—a truly personal touch that made the day even more special.
Advice from the Newlyweds
“It goes by so fast,” says Samantha. “Cherish every moment, as before you know it, it’s over.” She also praised the wedding planners for always being available to help and guide them whenever needed.
Samantha and Tom’s wedding was a true reflection of who they are—warm, loving, and beautifully understated. We feel so privileged to have been a part of their journey and wish them a lifetime of happiness as they continue writing their love story.
